Biblical Education

Deuteronomy 6:4-9  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:  (5)  And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.  (6)  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:  (7)  And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  (8)  And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  (9)  And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

In the Scriptures, education equates to discipleship. The education that our children receive is their discipleship for life. Sadly, so much of modern education has sought to sterilize itself from religious influence. In America it is considered “unconstitutional” to read the Bible and pray in public schools. This has ravaged the education that so many have received leaving it void of Christ. The Apostle Paul warns that such philosophical influences with “spoil” (destroy or ruin) us. Colossians 2:8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

ViewPoint Christian Academy exists to assist families in leading their children to a relationship with Jesus Christ. Everything else is secondary!

Our motto is: Spirit~Character~Academics. However, it also expresses our priorities. The spiritual condition of the child should be at the core of their education. As Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:38 Education that seeks to divorce spiritual training from all of its components is secular humanist at best and demonic at its core.

Further, ViewPoint seeks to promote and develop godly character within the lives of its students. It is character and not intelligence that is the determinative factor for success in life. One may have all the intellectual capacity possible, but without the character to apply it properly, it will most likely be wasted. ViewPoint desires for the students achieve their God-ordained destiny to become conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).

Academics may be the final priority at ViewPoint, but it is in no way inferior. Academics at Viewpoint are used to shape the spirit and character of the students. The Scriptures are infused within the curriculum. We are unashamed to be Creation scientists. Values are taught as absolute and eternal, coming from God and not subject to the whim of culture.

ViewPoint believes in and is committed to biblical education for all of its students. It is this commitment that influences our individualized philosophy of education. Click here to read about our individualized approach to education.
